Shiloh Baptist Church’s values

****values Defined****

The values are the beliefs and standards that underline the mission of the church.  They set the guidelines by which action plans are designed.  They help to express the area of greatest importance to our church.

Our Value Statement should be as follows:

The Gospel - We value the New Testament understanding of the Gospel.  A commitment to the Word alone, Faith alone, and Grace alone under girds and shapes our ministry that Jesus Christ might be exalted as Savior and Lord.

People - We value the God-given worth of each individual.  We exist to help them discover their God-given potential through a relationship with Jesus Christ and to help them grow as his disciples.  We will treat all people with dignity and respect, and will continually build a climate of warmth, acceptance and hospitality.

Leadership - We value the uniqueness and special gifts of each leader.  The leadership is our greatest asset, and we will work together to value each other and to bring out the best in one another.

Outreach - We value a relevant, practical, theologically correct, life transforming presentation of the Gospel.  Because lost people matter to God, we will continue to find ways to connect with them that they might be able to consider the claims of Christ in an atmosphere of openness and encouragement.

Prayer - We value prayer as the power for effective mission and ministry.  Prayer is our greatest ministry.

Excellence - We value excellence, efficiency, effectiveness, and quality in every area of ministry, knowing that joy comes from doing our best.

Integrity - We value honesty, openness, fairness, and grace in dealing with one another.  We will continually encourage one another to excel in integrity and holiness in all areas, especially in the management of time, talent, people and finances.

Innovation - We will create an environment, which encourages bold dreams, innovation, risk taking, and the freedom to fail, that we might be more effective in the mission of the church.

Fellowship -We value the love that must be manifested in and through each of our lives, that will make it possible for us to have real, authentic and sweet fellowship with each other.  We know the "Body" of Christ cannot function without energy, diversity, and unity.  We know that unity is harmonized diversity, which produces energy to accomplish ministry.
