Minister Perry C. Pullum
Minister Pullum was born May 2, 1951 on the southside of Chicago, where he was raised by his mother and grandmother. He attended elementary and high school in Chicago and continued his education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in the Administration of Justice in 1973. Minister Pullum furthered his education at Governors State University in Park Forest, Illinois, where he received his Masters of Art degree in Human Services in 1975. While attending Governors State, he enrolled in Loyola University's military science program, where he subsequently received his commission and entered the United States Army in January of 1977. Minister Pullum was married to his highschool sweetheart Joyce, in September 1972. To this union was born a son, Terrence and a daughter, Nina, and son-in-law Peter Grant. At the present time the Pullum's enjoy there two grandsons, Ethan and Josiah Grant as often as possible and hope to have more grandchildren in the future. Minister Pullum confessed and gave his life to Christ on February 28, 1999. He was baptised one week later on March 7th. He went on to serve Christ and the church by participating in church programs and teaching Sunday School and the Awana program. Minister Pullum professed his calling before the congregation to preach the gospel on October 10th, 2004. He preached his first sermon from the book of James on May 29, 2005. Minister Pullum has been employed with the State of Illinois since October, 1988. He has been a Sunday School teacher since August 2002. He has been an AWANA leader since 2003. He has been ministering to those attending Shiloh's soup kitchen since 2004 and he does everything with a real zest for life. His most cherished biblical scripture is from the book of James, (1:22) "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your ownselves."
