Shiloh Courtesy

“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.  I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” - Psalm 84:10

The mission of the Courtesy Ministry is to serve in a manner pleasing to God.

We are God’s public relations ministry and represent the church to every visitor.  Because the ministerial staff cannot personally greet all the people before a service, it is the responsibility of the courtesy committee to make visitors feel welcome and feel at home.

When a visitor comes to visit Shiloh, we are the first to welcome them!  We warmly greet our visitors with outstretched hands, a smile, and then provide them with a bulletin and a visitor’s package.   We are first to guide!   We ask our visitors to sign our guest book and introduce them to feeling comfortable.  We are first to assist!  We help the handicapped, mothers and dads carrying infants and others who have questions.  We are the first to introduce!  Our church is friendly, but to new people it’s a room full of strangers.  So we introduce new people to new friends.  We are the first to smile!  A smile shows visitors this is a spirit filled church.  A smile will also prepare the heart to receive the Word by letting the visitor know that we are really glad they came through our doors.

We know our attitude and efficiency will impact visitors.  Therefore; we warmly welcome them and go the extra mile to let them know we are glad they came and would like them to come to a service again.

If you enjoy working with people and would like a wonderful opportunity to meet church members as well as greet newcomers contact Pat Appling or any Shiloh Usher.
