Minister Ivy was born April 14, 1958 to the late parents Elder L. G. & Roxie Ivy. He received his elementary and high school education in Waukegan, Illinois. He accepted Christ at the age of 14. He was crowned as a Deacon, June 1987, under the leadership of the late Pastor J. N. Lightfoot of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Waukegan. He was licensed to preach in August 1994 by Pastor Walstone E. Francis of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Waukegan. He was ordained in the Gospel Ministry on April 13, 1997 by Pastor Francis. Minister Ivy received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Columbia College of Columbia, Missouri. He received his Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting from the College of Lake County, Grayslake, Illinois. He completed the volunteer training program Grief and Bereavement Ministry. He completed the volunteer training program of Hospice Alliance, Kenosha, Wisconsin. Presently, Minister Ivy is serving as Assistant to Pastor under Pastor Francis, Shiloh Baptist Church. He is a teacher in the adult department of Shiloh Sunday Church School. He is an instructor in Coping With Grief of Shiloh Family Life and Wellness Ministry. Minister Ivy is employed as an Expense Analyst at Kemper insurance Company where he has worked since March 1977. Minister Ivy has been married to Mrs. Shirley J. Ivy since June 1982. They have a son, Cedric, and a daughter, Alicia. His favorite verse is Psalm 27:4-- "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple." |
